My conversations with Eva Marie

These emails were exchanged in 1999. Eva sent me the first email after reading some of the essays on my site. Her first email was as follows:

I just discovered your website, and although I have not yet read all of your philosophies, I would be interested in having a heathy debate regarding atheism vs. monotheism. I am not an "atheist" basher, nor a basher of any sort, but I do love a good debate. I have an undergrad degree in biology, and an advanced degree in biophysics.

I am, for the record, a Messianic Jew.

After quite an exhaustive bit of scientific research, I came to the conclusion that, in fact, a Higher Power most certainly exists, as, after gathering and pondering all the facts, the evidence weighs in favor of it. As a scientist yourself, perhaps you would like to hear/respond to some scientifically based info, not philosophy.

How about writing back? This could be very interesting.

What follows are several months' worth of emails, in which we debate the existence of god, evolution, and the meaning of life. Eva did give me permission to post these years ago. (Eva, if you happen back here and would like me to take this down, please let me know and I will.)

Note: I have altered this and other letters from their initial forms by performing a spell check, and in some cases, by breaking the text into paragraphs.
